Electronic Notarization

Electronic Notary Transforming Notary Businesses Since 2007

~ Available in California ~

DocVerify has been a trusted leader in secure e-notary platforms since 2007, empowering commissioned notaries to perform electronic notarizations without the need for additional software or hardware—just an internet connection and a browser. This innovation allows notaries to transform their businesses swiftly and efficiently.

What Does California Allow Its Commissioned Notaries?

  • Electronic Notarizations (E-Notary):
California allows commissioned notaries to perform electronic notarizations, enabling the notarization of documents digitally without paper or a traditional rubber stamp.

  • Remote Online Notarizations (RON) – Coming Soon:
California has enacted Senate Bill 696, allowing Remote Online Notarizations (RON) for state-commissioned notaries. The law outlines a phased approach:

    • January 1, 2024: California recognizes out-of-state RON notarizations, meaning RON acts performed legally in other states will be accepted.

    • January 1, 2025: Online notarization platforms must meet California compliance standards before notaries can register to perform RONs.

    • By January 1, 2030: California notaries will be authorized to perform RON once the Secretary of State completes the necessary technological infrastructure.

What This Means for You

While electronic notarization is currently available, California-commissioned notaries cannot yet perform RON until the Secretary of State finalizes implementation. However, individuals needing RON services can use out-of-state notaries until the system is fully in place.
